JAM JAM is an Australian-style brunch cafe opened by a chef, a barista and a pâtissier who agreed on one thing: a cafe should not be good at food and weak at dessert, or the other way round. It is the longest-running brunch cafe in Yeonnam-dong, and word of it has travelled to Japan and China — weekends reliably draw a queue.
Black sesame, a distinctly Korean ingredient, runs through the desserts and the coffee and has kept people coming back for years. Brunch plates are built only from produce in season, and the doughnut-shaped pancake — a shape nobody else was making — is what took the cafe viral.
“The food, the dessert and the coffee all had to be good — that is why a chef, a barista and a pâtissier opened the door together.”
